About Us
Dr. Roonak Rahman-Pour
Roonak is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Melbourne.
Her journey started after graduation from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. After three years of working in rural areas, she returned to Tehran. She practised for ten years in one of the major tertiary hospitals in Iran, Milad Hospital, and several private hospitals.
She moved to Canada with her family in 2009, where she completed Canadian qualification exams and became a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. She added to her clinical experience by attending Humber River Hospital in Toronto.
Roonak moved permanently to Australia in 2015 and underwent two years of supervised practice in Canberra Tertiary Hospital and subsequently completed the examinations of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and became a Fellow of the College in 2017.
She worked as an O&G consultant in the beautiful city of Mount Gambier, SA, for over five years before moving to Melbourne and working at Eastern Health in 2023. She works at Box Hill, Angliss, and Healesville Hospitals caring for women in the public sector.
Roonak mentors and trains Medical Students and RANZCOG registrars.
She was the Women’s Health Problem-Based Learning tutor at Flinders University Rural School. In 2019, Flinders University Rural Medical School awarded her Specialist Teacher of the Year for excellence in students’ clinical education.
She works with Safe Care Victoria to deliver better and safer healthcare to Victorians in public settings.
She started a private practice with her dedicated friend and colleague, Dr. Affie Tourani, to extend her care to a broader range of medical conditions and have a more patient-centred approach to women’s health, especially during the decision-making process.
Having worked in different countries and clinical settings, Roonak is an accomplished, knowledgeable, and experienced specialist who takes a holistic approach toward her patients and their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. She has a friendly attitude and makes her patients very comfortable discussing their concerns with her.

She speaks English, Persian, and Kurdish and enjoys seeing people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
She operates in Mitcham Hospital, Epworth Freemasons Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital.
