Cervical Screening Test and Colposcopy

Screening for cervical cancer (By screening for HPV, Human Papilloma Virus with or without LBC, Liquid Based Cytology) is an essential part of staying healthy and avoiding cervical cancer. If your screening test results are abnormal, further testing is needed to confirm the result and determine the severity of the abnormality. Colposcopy is the test that is usually recommended in this case. It allows your doctor to look at your cervix using magnification. Biopsies may also be done at the time of the colposcopy. If you had an abnormal cervical screening test and were referred for colposcopy, you will receive information about the exam. You can choose to come for a consultation first and do the colposcopy in another session or do both at the same time. We facilitate your appointments as you wish.
